Furniture Layout

Loft spaces have the reputation of being dark and imposing. To maintain and enhance the feeling of light and space always keep the sloping walls a pale and neutral colour. This will give the effect of uplifting the space and central view point as opposed to darkening it.

If you would like to inject some colour, however, create a feature wall out of the flat walls and either paint in a bright tone or cover in a vivid wallpaper. Use the colours from this feature wall throughout the accessories in the room.

Soft Furnishings

Because of the architectural importance of the loft there are a lot of straight lines and solid forms which do enhance the character of the space but also take away the feeling of femininity and comfort. Consequently, it is important to add some texture and luxury via your soft furnishings. Add throws and scatter cushions in silk, suede, faux fur, PVC and wool to create a tactile and warm area. To complement this, add a large rug in an exciting texture and where appropriate add tassels, bows, buttons or beads to door knobs, cupboard panels, lamps, upholstery and blinds. This will create help make the space welcoming, individual, charming and as unique as these structurally fantastic places deserve.

Turquoise, the greenish blue colour can be tricky to work with when it comes to home décor. While, some people love the colour for its ornamental significance, infusing it in your home décor can be a task. But, it is gradually gaining prominence and is being intended as an accent colour in home design and décor. Turquoise colour can be perfect for giving an ornamental and traditional touch to your home. There are different ways how you can use this colour in an impactful manner, striking the right balance.
